Want to make your Samsung phone look cooler when it charges? Instead of the standard charging icon, you can create your own custom charging animation using Samsung’s Modes and Routines feature. This allows you to play an image or even a short video every time you plug in your phone.
How to Create a Custom Charging Animation
Follow these steps to set it up:
Step 1. Go to the Settings app on your Samsung phone.
Step 2. Scroll down and tap on Modes and Routines.
Step 3. Create a New Routine
- Select the Routines tab.
- Tap the + (plus) icon to add a new routine.
Step 4. Set the Trigger (IF)
- Under the If section, tap the + button.
- Search for Charging status and select it.
- Enable both Wired and Wireless charging if you want the routine to work in both cases.
- Tap Done.
Step 5. Set the Action (THEN)
- Under the Then section, tap the + button.
- Search for Wallpaper and choose Change lock screen wallpaper.
- Pick an image, dynamic wallpaper, or video from your gallery to use as your charging animation.
Step 6. Save Your Routine
- Give it a name, such as Charging Animation.
- Tap Save.
Now, whenever you plug in your Samsung phone, your chosen image or video will appear as a personalized charging animation!
How to Enable the Default Samsung Charging Animation
If you’d rather stick with Samsung’s built-in charging animation, make sure your phone’s settings allow it to run:
Step 1. Open Settings. Go to Accessibility.
Step 2. Tap on Vision enhancements.
Step 3. Find Reduce animations and make sure it’s turned off.
By disabling this setting, the default Samsung charging animation will show up every time you connect your charger.
