5 Alternative: Use PS Remote Play on PC and Mac
If your main goal is to play PS5 or PS4 games on your computer, you may want to use Sony’s official PS Remote Play application instead.
Unlike the PlayStation App, PS Remote Play is designed to stream gameplay from your console to a compatible Windows PC or Mac over an internet connection.
How to Get Started with PS Remote Play
Visit the official PlayStation website and download the PS Remote Play application for Windows or macOS.
Open the downloaded installer and follow the instructions to install PS Remote Play on your computer.
On your PS5 or PS4, open the system settings and enable the Remote Play feature.
Make sure your console is connected to the internet and configured for Remote Play.
Launch PS Remote Play on your computer and sign in using the same PlayStation Network account connected to your console.
Follow the on-screen instructions to connect to your PS5 or PS4.
Keep in mind: PS Remote Play and PlayStation App serve different purposes. Remote Play lets you stream games from your console, while the PlayStation App provides social, messaging, store, and account-related features.
